Guide to Renting

The first step is to work out what you can afford and what type of property will satisfy your needs. Once you have established these two things then decide which properties are suitable and make appointment times to view the properties.

It is important to make sure you make a good first impression – turn up to the appointment on time and have a clean and tidy appearance.

Once you have viewed a property  an application form must be completed. We recommend you do this as soon as possible as properties lease quickly. Make sure the application is completed fully and that all references can be checked. This will speed up the application process.

If you are successful with your application you will then be asked to sign lease documents and pay the first two weeks rent and a calendar months rent as a Bond. More information can be found at Consumer Affairs Victoria – www.consumer@justice.vic.gov.au
